Dihexa

Dihexa is a small synthetic molecule derived from angiotensin IV, a peptide investigated in brain signaling. Researchers changed the parent structure to make a more stable peptidomimetic: a molecule that retains selected peptide features while changing its chemistry. Rodent experiments have asked whether it helps animals perform memory tasks after injury or disease-like changes. The evidence includes favorable maze findings, an unfavorable Huntington-like experiment and serious publication problems in the early work. No reviewed human trial establishes cognitive benefit or clinical safety.
