Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ResearchMemos.com handles information when you read the website or send a message. Research Memos is an educational publication based in California, United States. Last updated October 15, 2026.

When you read the site

You can read the library, courses and comparison articles without creating an account. Our hosting and delivery systems receive technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, the requested URL, the time of the request and information about your browser or device. Requests can also include the page that referred you here. This information supports page delivery, caching, troubleshooting, traffic statistics and protection against misuse.

Search terms and selected compounds can appear in page URLs. Those URLs may be recorded in browser history and by the systems that serve the website. Please keep private health information out of searches and URLs.

Preferences and learning progress

The website uses your browser’s local storage to remember light or dark appearance, dismissal of the educational notice and lessons you have chosen to mark complete. These features use the keys rm-appearance, rm-education-dismissed and rm-lessons-complete-v1. The publication’s feature scripts do not upload these preferences or synchronize your lesson progress across devices.

You can remove them by clearing this website’s stored data in your browser. Doing so resets those preferences and any saved lesson progress. The website sets no automatic expiry for these entries, although your browser may remove stored data. You can continue reading when storage is unavailable, but preferences and lesson completion cannot be saved.

WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in and related security functions. Public readers do not need to sign in. Hosting and security systems may also use technical information to distinguish legitimate requests from misuse.

When you send a message

The contact form asks for an email address and message, with optional name, topic and page link. Messages are stored in the website’s WordPress database and are available to authorized administrators. We use this information to review publication questions, check corrections, handle privacy requests and follow up when needed. Sending a message does not subscribe you to marketing.

The form also records when and from which page a message was submitted, together with browser or device information. Messages sent while signed in can also be linked to the website account. IP logging is disabled for contact-form entries; the hosting and security logs described above are separate. Spam checks run within our WordPress site to help reject automated submissions. We have not enabled an external CAPTCHA or connected this form to a mailing list, advertising service or AI system.

Please do not submit medical records, financial account details, payment information, passwords or identity documents. The form does not accept file uploads. We cannot provide personal medical advice through correspondence.

Service providers and disclosure

Hostinger provides website hosting, content delivery, security services and backups. Fluent Forms runs within our WordPress installation to handle contact submissions. The form is configured to retain messages in WordPress, with form email notifications and weekly form email summaries disabled. We have not enabled a newsletter signup, payment checkout, advertising pixels or Google Analytics on this publication.

Authorized administrators and service providers may access information as needed to operate, protect and maintain the website. Hosting backups can contain contact entries. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Hostinger describes its own handling of information in its Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal information or share it with other businesses to target advertising across websites or apps. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, investigate misuse, enforce our terms or respond to a security incident.

Retention and protection

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to review the request, follow up, maintain an accurate editorial record or meet a legal or security obligation. A correction and its supporting sources may remain useful after the original conversation ends. You can ask us to review or delete information you have submitted using the contact form.

Deleting a live entry does not immediately remove every backup copy. Hosting backups follow the provider’s retention and replacement process. If information must be retained for a legal or security reason, that may also limit immediate deletion. We use HTTPS and restrict administrative access, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

External websites

Shop and study citations take you to other websites. The shop opened by Shop and Research Memos have the same owner, but this policy covers the publication. Purchases, accounts and messages on the shop are governed by its own policies. Other linked sites also have their own privacy practices.

When you follow an external link, your browser makes a request to that destination and may send referrer information according to your browser and the website’s policies. We do not place private contact messages in those links.

Your questions and choices

Use Contact & Corrections for a privacy question or a request concerning information you have sent us. Tell us enough to locate the relevant correspondence. We may need to verify your request before disclosing, changing or deleting personal information, and will ask only for information appropriate to that purpose.

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of or request deletion of personal information, and to exercise those rights without unlawful discrimination. These rights can have exceptions. Please identify the request in your message so it can be reviewed under the applicable rules.

We do not use advertising that follows readers across websites or apps. The website’s reading features do not change in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. Global Privacy Control is a separate signal for opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information where applicable. It does not turn off the page requests and security checks needed to operate this website. You can also use your browser’s privacy controls and clear the local preferences described above.

Children’s information

This publication is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information through the contact form, please contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate.

Policy changes

We will update this page when the website’s practices change and revise the date above. Additional notices will be provided when required by applicable law. Future guides, email subscriptions or payment features will need their own accurate disclosures before they are introduced.
