KPV

KPV is the three-amino-acid sequence lysine–proline–valine, found at the end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Researchers have studied its ability to reduce inflammatory responses in intestinal cells and mouse colitis. The most informative experiments connect entry through a small-peptide transporter with changes in inflammatory signaling, then examine gut injury in animals. Later work adds a targeted delivery system. Together, these studies explain the interest in KPV for intestinal inflammation; the clinical effectiveness and human safety of a defined KPV medicine remain unresolved.
