DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide)

DSIP is a synthetic nine-residue peptide whose name comes from early rabbit experiments that increased slow-wave electrical activity in the brain. It later reached small controlled human studies of insomnia and hormone secretion. One repeated-night report described improved sleep and daytime function, while other placebo comparisons found little clinical improvement. Taken together, these reports leave uncertainty about whether a useful sleep benefit can be reproduced and sustained in people.
