Semax

Semax is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide studied for brain responses to injury and for changes in neural signaling. Russian clinical reports describe recovery after ischemic stroke, while animal experiments examine neurotrophins and injury-related gene expression. Small healthy-volunteer studies add observations about resting brain networks. Its literature is useful for tracing how a short ACTH-related sequence affects signaling proteins, tissue responses and measured neurological outcomes under different conditions. Gusev and colleagues (1997), Dolotov and colleagues (2006).
